This website will be a wealth of knowledge for people interested in military vehicle ownership -- more specifically, the High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV).
BULLETIN BOARD NOW ENABLED! I will warn you now: Any messages asking where you can buy a "cheep Humvee" will be deleted on sight. As long as people do not abuse the boards, they will remain online. If I am constantly having to remove inflamitory or otherwise inappropriate messages, I will disable the board and you'll have to find somewhere else to get HMMWV help. I'm tired of hearing requests for cheap (\\$1000) M998's from people...these vehicles are expensive to purchase and expensive to maintain. If you cannot afford to buy one, you will most certainly not be able to afford the maintenance required. It makes a pretty poor lawn ornament. Also, if you are looking for one "cheap", that implies laziness and you will not have the perseverance to perform proper PMCS (preventative maintenance checks and services). If you fail to perform proper maintenance, the vehicle will not last long. They absolutely BEG preventative maintenance. If you take the time, effort, and patience to perform this, it should work fine for you for thousands of miles.
